Thirteen persons were yesterday confirmed dead in a motor accident along Kaduna-Kano expressway. Other passengers also sustained various degrees of injury in the crash involving a Kano-bound Marcopolo luxury bus and four other vehicles.
An eyewitness, Mallam Sani Haruna, said: “The luxury bus lost control and collided with four vehicles, in which 13 persons died on the spot. The four cars were condemned.”
Report gathered, state that the luxurious bus left Lagos, and headed towards Kano on Monday evening before the ill-fated accident happened in the early hours of yesterday few kilometers from destination.
Confirming the incident, Kaduna Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Hafiz Mohammed, reveal level of the casualty.
Meanwhile, Lagos State FRSC Sector Commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide, adviced motorists to obey all traffic rules and regulations by abstaining from driving against the flow of traffic (One-way) to avoid crash and head-on collision.
